Intervention, Intersection & Interception

Three important concepts in intercession.  They are intervention, intersection and interception.

To "intervene" means to step into the situation with divine power in view.  Jesus had the power and authority to do that.  And by doing it, He put the powers of darkness under His feet (Matt 28:18).

He now sends us into the very same world with the same authority:  "As the Father has sent me, so send I you....Behold I have given you authority and power to step upon the serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy  Nothing will harm you in any way" (John 20:21: Luke 10:19).

When you see the evil forces of the world, the flesh and the devil at work, you have the authority to intervene.  Don't just let it go.

In life, there are many "crossroads".  Thee are all kinds of people, places and events with their needs and problems that will come across our path.  When we bring the victory and power of Christ's cross into such meeting-places, they become divine "crossroads".  On the cross, Jesus Christ broke all the powers of the world, flesh and the devil.  It was a total triumph - a complete victory.

To "intercept" means to steop, take over and even reverse the direction of something.  What begins as a failure is changed because of the "interception".  This is done through intercessory prayers.  The enemy is coming in as a flood.  The situation looks hopeless.  Then somebody steps in (intervention), applies the power of the cross through prayer (intersection); the situation is taken over for God, and the tide is completely reversed (interception).  What looked like a victory for the devil becomes a triumph for the Lord.  This is the Kingdom power in action.
