"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart" (Matthew 11:29)
Christ likens himself to a farmer and us to oxen in his service. But unlike a farmer who imposes a yoke upon the oxen whether they like it or not, Christ invites us to carry his yoke. "Take my yoke upon you".
He has first asked us to come, and made a gracious promise. He next shows us how
to come. We are to come by taking HIS yoke upon us. Taking on the yoke is a
symbol of submission. The two steps by which we come, and secure the promise of
rest unto our souls are then (1) Submission to Christ, (2) Becoming his
disciples.
Christ gives him mind to us, are we willing to give our minds to him?

Having The Mind Of Christ
"But we have the mind of Christ". (1 Cor 2:16) Paul tells the
Corinthians that they have the "mind of Christ". Our Soverign Lord
places at the disposal of all his children his pure and perfect mind. He opens
his mind to us; we must open our mind to Him.
We have the mind of Christ. What a powerful statement. Too many Christians do not know what this phrase means. To have the mind of Christ must indicate that we don’t think and operate quite the way we did in former times. In order to have the mind of Christ, we are going to have to present ourselves to God for a transforming of our very carnal minds. But the fact that the Bible tells us that we have the mind of Christ is indicative of the fact that the work of transformation is possible and we can think differently than we used to. Hallelujah. When we have the mind of Christ we will begin to see things the way they really are in the eyes of God, rather than how we imagine they are.
Philippians 2:3-4 “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”

Transformed By The Renewing Of Your Mind
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will". (Rom 12:2)
Is the Church being brainwashed by the world. Secularism has spread far and wide so that without realising, we find ourselves thinking about the important issues of life with the same mindset as the world. Is God remoulding us or is the world remoulding us? Our lives are thus in danger if we conform to the pattern of the world.
In order to be transformed, we must renew our mind by the constant bathing of the word of God which has power unto salvation. "...our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power." (1Thess. 1:5)
We are not to conform to the ways of this sinful world which is temporary. The Holy scriptures have the power to turn our thoughts and attitudes toward God and away from the carnal ways of the world. Without the cleansing power of the word, we become insensitive to sin.
Having to live and work in an unbelieving world can greatly influence the mind. By the end of the day, we often find ourselves thinking and even acting like unbelievers due to such close association. Most of us are bombarded daily by backbiting competition, vulgar language, gossip, and all kinds of worldly temptations.
