The Bible is the world’s
best seller. It consistently outsells
any other book. It has also been
translated into more languages than any other book in the world. It was originally written in Hebrews, Aramaic
and Greek. Although it is one of the
oldest book in the world, the Bible is still most relevant and modern; for in
it we find answers to life’s greatest questions:
·
“Where did I come from?”· “Why am I here?”
· Where will I go?
The Bible is divided into two sections, namely the Old
Testament and the New Testament. It
comprises 66 smaller books and has only one central theme focussing on God’s loving
plan to rescue mankind.
The Old Testament gives an account of God’s work with His
people before the birth of Jesus. The
New testament gives us an account of Jesus’ birth, His Life, His great ministry
of healing and forgiveness, His death on the cross, His resurrection and His
ascension (going back to Heaven).
